Michael Dahan is a dear friend of mine. I met him five years ago through a friend who told me, "you have to meet my friend Dahan, you guys will love each-other". She was right. He's a rad dude.
What I love about Dahan's work is his ability to create an emotional landscape in every picture. His work is steeped in the tradition of those who came before him, namely Annie Leibovitz and David LaChapelle, but Dahan has a unique vision which challenges the viewer to dig deeper. His fantastic eye for composition, lighting, and color shows his skill as a technician and is what enables him to help us not just look at a picture, but actually feel because of it. He does look stellar in this photo! The last time I saw him perform he took underwear out of his pocket! hehe...
